Snugged among the lively backstreets of Fitzroy, Industry Beans is a bustling warehouse café and roastery that is dedicated to producing some of the best coffee in Melbourne – whether you’re in the mood for espresso, pour-over or cold brew with tapioca pearls (aka Industry Beans Bubble Cup). We popped by for a meal on Saturday before the brunch/lunch time rush and was given a long sharing table after a short 10 minutes wait.
The open kitchen prepares a seasonal menu with unique dishes incorporate fresh ingredients and creative techniques. Ingredients such as collagen noodles that vanish when in contact with hot bone broth, edible sand, fruit sashimi and coffee caviar – their dishes are beautifully plated and presented. Portion-wise, it’s small which left us wanting a snack after our brunch.
Favourite Dish: Marinated Rare Beef with a peanut crusted egg with a soft runny yolk.
Tip: Come early in the weekend or be prepared to wait!
