Family owned Moroccan-inspired Onslow opened its door in May 2016, the spot previously occupied by Vietnamese eatery, Peasant. A family owned causal eatery, Onslow pride themselves with “food from the land to your table” philosophy and offers a seasonal menu that changes depending on the seasonal produce.
Their menu is split into small and big dishes and we decided to order two big and one small dish to share after work on Thursday.
Grilled Beef – Flavoured with Truffle Oil, Paprika and Cumin
Surprisingly when the dishes arrived, the small and large plates seems like they were about the same size. Rather disappointing considering the prices for the large dishes are round the $30 mark. However, we cannot fault the quality of the food which was delicious. My favourite was the grilled beef which was tender and flavoursome. The salad underneath happily soaked up all the delicious juices and we devoured this dish quickly!
I’ve been told that service can be a hit or miss at Onslow but it was smiles all around during our visit. The food came out quickly from the kitchen and our water topped up frequently.
