Christchurch: C1 Espresso

Hunting for good cafes is always on my to do list and it’s no exception when I travelled down to Christchurch with my family. After searching online on Zomato and filtering ones that opens during a public holiday, we made our way to C1 Espresso in the CBD.

The cafe occupies an old art deco central post office building and is in the heart of the rebuild zone after the catastrophic Canterbury Earthquake. One of the most popular and iconic cafes in Christchurch, getting a table can be extremely difficult. The menu is pretty solid with plenty of different hearty options available as well as curly fries and sliders which flies into the dining room in a pneumatic tube delivery system.

I ordered the vegetarian eggs benedict with spinach and hash brown and paired this with a strong Chemex coffee. Service was efficient and friendly and we all had our hunger satisfied!
