The perfect way to spend a sunny weekend is with a fabulous meal and a great cup of coffee! I usually never venture out to Mt Albert, but Sprout caught my eye when I drove pass, on my way to a baby shower. The cafe aspect of Sprout is newly opened as it was just originally a smoothie and juice bar.
Food: With a nice selection of dishes, there is something to suit every diet. Whether you are after a healthy granola, a homey mushroom and goat cheese tart or a bacon wrapped egg, you will find something you want to try. Dishes can also be made gluten or dairy free, if that suits your dietary requirements. My bacon wrapped soft eggs with a crispy panko crumb was perfect! Very different from what I have had previously and it was delicious!
Coffee: Coffee Lab coffee beans. My soy flat white was spot on. If you’re after a healthy beverage, there are freshly made juices including my green juice made with kale, cucumber, mint and apple.
Price: Dishes are around an average of $17.
Location and Parking: A suburban cafe around residential housing. Plenty of off street parking as well as ones right in front of the cafe when the market isn’t on.
Dining Experience: We went on a Sunday around 12:30PM and the cafe is relatively quiet. Drinks and food came out from the kitchen quickly and the service was friendly and pleasant. The environment is very relaxed and we ended up staying there for a good two hours. I recommend coming on Saturday morning so you can visit the Mt Albert food and grocery market.
