Landreth and Co

The variety of different cafes and restaurants on Ponsonby Road is immense. You can find so many good places from one end of the road to another and the choices are endless. My recent discovery is a little cafe and restaurant called Landreth&Co where my friends and I stopped by to grab a late lunch and coffee. The cafe has an extensive menu with dishes such as the corned beef burger, homemade fish croquette, and salads. Alternatively, you can pick something from their all day breakfast menu or cakes and muffins from their cabinet.

Our order of the Waikanae crab omelette was served piping hot with buttered toast and a wedge of lime. The omelette was light and fluffy with a generous amount of delicious crab meat which was combined with paprika and spring onions. We also ordered the truffled eggs and that was served with grilled tomato, roasted Portobello mushrooms, and toast. The eggs had a lovely creamy texture but it lacked the distinct truffle taste which was slightly disappointing.

Overall, I was quite pleased with Landreth&Co. Firstly, the food was of a great standard and the coffee was perfect. Secondly, they only use free range products. And thirdly, the decor and vibe of this little cafe is comfy and chic. They offer outdoor seating which would be perfect during the summer. My overall dining experience at Landreth&Co was pleasant and enjoyable. It’s a nice place to relax on a weekend and catch up with your friends over a cup of coffee or a glass of beer/wine and makes for a convenient place to stop by and fuel up after a long day of shopping at Ponsonby.
