A short and sweet review of the new Japanese restaurant – Oedo – located on Great South Road.

Extensive menu. We order a variety of different dishes which included the fresh and sweet sashimi and nigiri combo, steamed chawamushi with chicken and seafood, tasty fried rice, succulent chicken katsu, beef tataki, seaweed salad and wasabi octopus. Everything was of great standard, however the portions were on the small side.

The place has a nice decor with different dining areas allowing more privacy for big groups. But, some of these areas are not wheelchair friendly.

All in all, a decent Japanese restaurant that is similar to Nishiki and Nippon but with better parking. Nothing too spectacular or exciting hence the short entry. Worth a try if you enjoy Japanese cuisine.
