Afternoon Tea – The Winery, Langham Hotel

The Langham’s Signature Afternoon Tea at The Winery

The Winery serves afternoon tea between noon and 4:30p.m, seven days a week. Luxurious interior with comfortable high back chairs and a colossal chandelier. We went on a Saturday afternoon so it was a little busy but the staff was quick and attentive. The variety of food is typical high tea with assorted sandwiches, scones, cakes, and pastries. My favorite would have to be the vanilla, blueberry and rose meringue shot. The sandwiches were average but the roast beef on Yorkshire pudding with horseradish cream was exceptional.

They pricing for their afternoon tea is on the expensive side – $36 Monday to Friday and $39.50 Saturday and Sunday. That comes with either a tea or coffee. You can also opt for the champagne afternoon tea which cost an additional $25. I consider the Langham afternoon tea to be average. The atmosphere is nicer compared to Stamford, but the food did not stand out and the sandwiches were rather bland. Plus, for $39.50, I could have ordered a juicy steak at Jervois or a crab and prawn at Euro.
