The Bondi Icebergs club situated on the south end of Bondi Beach is a licensed swimming club that has a panoramic view of Bondi Beach. The bistro, located inside the club, is where we decided to have lunch there on my first day in Sydney as we were sightseeing around Bondi and food with a stunning view is just what we needed.
The bistro serves a causal dining menu which is rather limited and they lack an all day breakfast menu. So instead of getting our own dish, we decided to order two to share. We ordered the antipasto plate with grilled capsicum, eggplant, zucchini, olives, feta cheese, and grilled pide bread as well as a bowl of hot crispy wedges with a side of sour cream and sweet chili sauce. The antipasto dish was decent and the combination of vegetables were excellent for my vegetarian friend. The wedges were perfectly deep fried and the mix of sweet chili sauce and sour cream made the wedges easy to finish!
And of course, the meal won’t be complete without an ice cold Corona with a small wedge of lime. The dining experience in general was average. The selection during the afternoon could increase and the service of the waitstaff needs improvement. But if you want a meal with a stunning view of Bondi Beach, then Icebergs is where you need to be.
